Overwatch PTR patch notes, July 6: the one with Doomfist
Here, there will be no payloads to escort or maps to capture as your primary purpose will be to take down as many enemies as possible. Moreover, there will be two plays for this which will involve both solo and team play. The solo Free-For-All mode relies on pure skill as you and seven other characters will compete to get 20 kills the fastest. Meanwhile, the Team Deathmatch mode is a 6v6 match wherein both sides will have to get 30 kills first to win. Aside from the Deathmatch, Blizzard is also bringing in a new map called the Château Guillard.
Blizzard has also modified the following maps to accommodate the new arcade mode: Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Dorado, Temple of Anubis, Eichenwald, Hollywood, King’s Row, Castillo, Black Forest, Necropolis, and Ecopoint: Antarctica. That aside, several “Overwatch” heroes have also gotten a few new changes. To begin with, Junkrat's while his RIP-Tire no longer has a time limit when climbing walls and also gets a 30 percent increase in speed. Meanwhile, Orisa’s Fusion Driver now fires projectiles faster by 20 percent.
Her Protective Barrier’s size, on the other hand, has increased by 20 percent and has also changed shape to allow coverage from enemies directly below it. Moving on, Roadhog’s Take a Breather can now be used while moving and he takes 50 percent less damage while using it. This falls in line with what Blizzard previously. Finally, Widowmaker’s Grappling Hook cooldown has gone down from 12 to 8 seconds, and those affected by her venom mine can now be seen through walls.

While many of these changes will also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a future patch, the PTR is PC-only and therefore will only reflect changes coming specifically to that platform. Ammo recovery rate increased from 0.
Developer Comments: This change will help Doomfist more consistently be able to use his weapon as part of his combos. Freeze (slow) duratioDeveln increased from 1 second to 1. Developer Comments: Increasing Mei’s slow duration helps her freeze targets that are particularly elusive such as Genji or Lúcio.
The emote wheel arrives
Lowering her alternate fire ammo cost allows her to more safely use it without costing her the ability to freeze enemies. No longer blocked by small objects (e. Cast time reduced from 0. Machine Pistol spread reduced from 3 to 2. Developer Comments: The goal of these changes for Sombra is to remove the necessity for her teammates to take damage and heal themselves with her hacked heath packs to try to get her ultimate charged up quickly. Her ultimate will now come up less often, but there are more abilities that are disabled by Hack so it is more effective when used.
Previously, Opportunist would only activate when an enemy’s health bar dipped below 50% but now the passive will reveal all damaged enemies in her line of sight which should help Sombra identify targets to pick off. Overall these changes should make her more effective and less reliant on her ultimate.
Mercy and DVa balance changes on Overwatch PTR, patch notes
Developer Comments: This helps remove some clutter from Mercy players’ screens when they use her ultimate. Okay, but can you be more clear with "Freeze (slow) duration increased from 1 second to 1. So, the Sombra's passive buff is in or not? It's in the developer comments but not in the list nor on the PTR servers. PMPosted by Another mercy nerf lol, even if slight. XDIt's more of a slight buff - full health bars won't clutter your screen anymore. You'll still know if the enemy's full because you won't see a bar. PMPosted by Okay, but can you be more clear with "Freeze (slow) duration increased from 1 second to 1.
The slow effect itself is getting a longer duration, while the freeze remains untouched. It just means enemies that escape your spray suffer from the slow longer, and so you can continue trying to freeze them without starting over. I'm honestly so glad Sombra got buffed. D Thank you so much blizzard after Nerfing my one main down to the ground i can finally outshine on my other main <3. PMPosted by So, the Sombra's passive buff is in or not? It's in the developer comments but not in the list nor on the PTR servers.
Well those annoying 'Flanker' Moria's are about to get a rude awakening with these Sombra changes. This will make those pirate ship comps on Junker town much easier to deal with as well. Although I am a little worried about Mercy. If this disables her ability to fly when in Valkyrie, and these changes go through, Mercy mains are likely to riot. PMPosted by Previously, Opportunist would only activate when an enemy’s health bar dipped below 50% but now the passive will reveal all damaged enemies which should help Sombra identify targets to pick off.
But it isn't in the list of changes and not in ptr and jeff didn't mention it as well.
So is dev comment outdated or something? Sweet, minor, near pointless Mei buffs that don't do anything to address her innumerable bugs, nor her underwhelming kit. Mei is a niche hero with no niche that has a worse pickrate than Sombra on both consoles, and an almost equally low pickrate on PC, except Sombra is picked far more at higher ranks meaning she actually HAS a niche. Unlike Mei who has been floundering with under 1% pickrate and a negative winrate for over a year.
These changes do almost nothing. A decent Mei player isn't even going to notice these changes. A slightly longer slow duration? Yay, a decent genji can still just jump out of it. No ult changes, no utility buffs, no bug fixes. You've successfully done absolutely! PMPosted by Although I am a little worried about Mercy. If this disables her ability to fly when in Valkyrie, and these changes go through, Mercy mains are likely to riot.
Mercy does not use her Angelic Descent ability when she's in Valkyrie. She just moves up into the air.
I don't think Opportunist needed to be changed in this way. All of these changes to doomfist aren't really changes, they're just putting him to the level of effectiveness that he should have had when he was introduced. The level of bugs and problems regarding this hero has made him so inconsistent and unplayable. I admire the effort to introduce this street fighter style hero, but playing doomfist feels very hit-or-miss (most often miss).
OVERWATCHUprising is the comic book precursor to the big update Blizzard is planning for April 11
The opportunist changes are likely not a good idea. Perfect information and callouts will be way too strong. The rest of the sombra changes are good. PMPosted by I don't think Opportunist needed to be changed in this way. Va at 500 health and a Zenyatta at 5 health are two very different things for sombra to attack, and there's no way to know who's at 5 and who's at 500 Besides, of course, the actual hero. I don't think this add on is meant to increase her targeting of damaged heroes as much as it's meant to increase her knowledge of hero locations.
You can tell if Zenyatta has less health because. A new update is now available on 's public test realm servers, bringing with it the and more. As described by Blizzard recently, this update prevents Roadhog from pulling enemies around corners.
PC Games news and reviews from PCGamesNcom
Instead, Chain Hook pulls enemies "directly in front of Roadhog (rather than straight to him), except in cases where Roadhog drastically rotates," which should prevent players from being dumped off of cliffs. When a player is hooked, they'll be let go if they leave Roadhog's line of sight. Checks on his line of sight are now done based on Roadhog's position, rather than that of the hook itself. According to Blizzard, "The hook should now feel more consistent for Roadhog players, but it should also feel more reasonable to his enemies, as they cannot be hooked or pulled around corners anymore.
Va to a small extent with this update. She loses 200 armor but gains 200 health, and her weapon now deals less damage. She fires more bullets per shot (11, up from 8), but each bullet does less damage (2, down from 3). Va's armor often made her feel like she had no weaknesses, even against heroes that are often effective against bigger targets (like Reaper)," the state. "The changes to her Fusion Cannons will result in a small overall decrease in damage, but they should feel more consistent now. Two other characters also see balance tweaks.
Overwatch Patch 119: Junkrat and Mercy nerfs and Doomfist fixes now on the PTR
The healing boost from Ana's Biotic Grenade is now 50 percent less effective, and Sombra's Hack now takes only 0. Seconds to complete (down from 1 second).
Another noteworthy component of the update is the addition of an emote wheel to the communication wheel. As, this allows you to equip four emotes, sprays, and voice lines so that you're not locked into one of each per match. On, you'll also be able to bind specific sprays, emotes, and voice lines to keys or mouse buttons for quick and easy use. The update also introduces some bug fixes and UI refinements, such as better calling out headshots and Ultimate abilities in the kill feed.
You can see all of the changes in the patch notes at the bottom of this post. If you own the PC version of Overwatch, you can check all of this out now on the PTR servers by selecting that version from the Region/Account drop-down menu in the Battle. There's no word yet on a date for the full release on PC or consoles. Developer comments: The healing boost from Ana’s Biotic Grenade was providing too much healing, especially when used on targets with large health pools. Va's armor often made her feel like she had no weaknesses, even against heroes that are often effective against bigger targets (like Reaper).
The changes to her Fusion Cannons will result in a small overall decrease in damage, but they should feel more consistent now. Developer comments: The hook should now feel more consistent for Roadhog players, but it should also feel more reasonable to his enemies, as they cannot be hooked or pulled around corners anymore. The time it takes to hack a target has been decreased from 1 second to 0. Developer comments: Sombra often had difficulty hacking enemies, even when she surprised the target.
This change should help her execute hacks more easily.
